Our Focus Areas

01 Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)

Access to clean water, proper sanitation, and hygiene is a cornerstone of public health and sustainable development. At Green Innovation Center (GIC), we provide expert consultancy, assessments, and evaluations in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). Our experienced team supports governments, NGOs, and development partners in designing and monitoring WASH programs that improve lives and build healthier communities. We integrate evidence-based research and participatory approaches to ensure that WASH interventions are inclusive, impactful, and aligned with Malawi’s national strategy of achieving universal access to safe water and sanitation by 2030.

02 Public Health, Maternal Health, and Child Development

Improving maternal, neonatal, and child health is central to sustainable development. GIC provides tailored research, evaluations, and technical support for public health and maternal-child health programs. We partner with governments and NGOs to reduce maternal mortality, enhance neonatal care, and promote early childhood development (ECD). Our approach combines evidence-based policy analysis, health system strengthening, and community engagement to ensure lasting impact. We focus on addressing barriers to healthcare access, promoting sound policies, and raising awareness for improved maternal and child health outcomes.

03 Governance

Strong governance systems and accountable institutions are critical for inclusive development. At GIC, we design and evaluate governance and accountability programs that strengthen transparency, empower citizens, and improve service delivery. Our governance work emphasizes participatory approaches, policy analysis, and institutional development to ensure that governance structures are responsive, inclusive, and effective.

04 Natural Resource Management, Enterprise Development, Food Security, and Nutrition

Food security and sustainable natural resource management are at the heart of Malawi’s National Resilience Strategy. GIC supports communities, government, and NGOs in co-creating innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture, natural resource-based enterprises (NRBE), and nutrition interventions. We provide in-depth research, program evaluations, and livelihoods analysis to reduce chronic vulnerability, improve resilience, and promote inclusive economic growth.

05 Climate Change, Resilience & Economic Empowerment

Climate change poses major challenges to Malawi’s vulnerable communities. GIC supports resilience-building and economic empowerment through adaptive research, livelihood diversification, renewable energy promotion, and inclusive community engagement. Our focus is on equipping communities to withstand climate shocks, recover quickly, and build sustainable pathways out of poverty.
